Weekly Report: viscose staple fiber (15th Aug-19th Aug)

    168Tex News: Viscose fiber price generally showed an up trend, which basically establish the trend of making up the deficits and getting surpluses. Compare with that of last week, 1.5D strike price is increased by 150CNY. Now it is quoted around 18800-19000CNY, and the strike price is at 18500CNY/t. Production and marketing rate is generally at a balance.

    This week, viscose staple yarn price continue to increase. Early of the week, viscose staple yarn quotation is boosted up by short supply, but downstream market still needs some time to ease the high price and the prophase stock still needs some time, therefore, its price stays stable. Later, with the influence of production change in some plants of China Shandong area, the price is boosted up to some extent.

    On upstream, cotton linter sales well and its price keeps stable. It is said that, Xiajin cotton linter inventory is lower than ten thousand ton, the market supply is limited, plants mainly buy in to cover the inventory. Common fiber linter quotation maintained around 5000CNY, good quality duraplush price is maintained around 5600CNY. On cotton pulp, its turns over is just on average this week, market demand is low for previously some plants have take in orders of September, now its price is maintained around 11500CNY, which is increased by 100CNY, comparing with that of last week.

    On downstream, cotton market performance is OK. Some high grade cotton quotation increased. Sinkiang third grade lint cotton is quoted at 20900CNY, which is 500CNY increased than that of last week. Moreover, boosted by upstream viscose staple fiber market, rayon yarn market price slightly increased, whose turns over also enlarged. Now 30S yarn is quoted around 23000CNY, knitted fabric market price is quoted at 24500CNY.

    Now, viscose fiber price mainly stabilized, but it is dull sale at the new price. Plants’ production and consumption rate is generally keeps a balance for the previous orders. Next week, it is estimated that some plants operation rate will be recovered, and its production rate will be increased, which will curb viscose staple fiber price up. And viscose staple fiber price is estimated to consolidate next week.
