August 1, 2011 –Production & Marketing Weakened; the Polyester Yarn Price Turns Weak in China

The polyester yarn price goes steady in Jiangsu Market today. The prices are unchanged in Shengze. A local direct spinning manufacturer quoted the acceptance price of FDY 50D/24F for 17600 Yuan/ton and the acceptance price of DTY 75D/144F for 19900 Yuan/ton. A local melt spinning manufacturer quoted the acceptance price of FDY 75D/144F for 16900 Yuan/ton and semi-dull FDY 55D/24F for 17400 Yuan/ton with acceptance. The third manufacturer quoted light FDY 40D/24F for 16600 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers reported the straddle attitude was strong in the early market. The polyester yarn price keeps steady in Taicang. Now one of the local manufacturers quoted FDY 50D/24F for 16900 Yuan/ton by cash and POY 150D/144F for 15300 Yuan/ton by cash remittance. Manufacturers reported that yesterday’s production-marketing is around 50% and the influence brought by the electricity limit policy got stronger.

The polyester yarn price is steady but turns weak in Zhejiang Market. Local manufacturer in Xiao Shan stabilized the quotations; now one of the leading manufacturers quoted FDY 66D/24F for 15900 Yuan/ton and DTY75D/144F micro-web for 19800 Yuan/ton. Another POY manufacturer quoted POY 150D/144F for 15160 Yuan/ton. The polyester yarn price also goes weak in Shao Xing. One of the local leading manufacturers decreased some of the products by 100 Yuan/ton and quoted FDY 50D/24F for 16600 Yuan/ton by cash and FDY 50D/36F for 16900 Yuan/ton. The products’ prices keep unchanged in Tong Xiang; now one of the local manufacturers there quoted DTY 150D/144F for 17250 Yuan/ton and POY 75D/144F for 16500 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers reported that the demand turned weak in the downstream market and the production-marketing fell back to 80% in the weekend.

The manufacturers in China basically unchanged the quotations. However, judge from the sales last weekend, the production-marketing generally fell back to 60-70% and even lower. Influenced by this, some manufacturers who used to quote high prices began to make promotion during the trades. As the electricity limit policy become more severe, the polyester yarn price is expected to turn weak recently.
