July 25, 2011-The Polyester Yarn Price Increase in China Due to Electricity Limit Policy

The polyester yarn price increases dramatically in Jiangsu Market. A local melt spinning manufacturer in Shengze increased the quotations by 300-500 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted light FDY 50D/36F for 17500 Yuan/ton, semi-dull FDY 55D/24F for 17400 Yuan/ton by cash and DTY 75D/144F for 20200 Yuan/ton by cash. The second manufacturer generally increased the prices by 200 Yuan/ton and quoted light FDY 40D/24F for 16600 Yuan/ton and semi-dull FDY 50D/48F for 17000 Yuan/ton. The polyester yarn price goes highly in Taicang. Now one of the local manufacturers increased FDY products by 100-200 Yuan/ton and some of POY products by 100 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted FDY 50D/24F for 16700 Yuan/ton by cash and POY 150D/144F for 15300 Yuan/ton by cash remittance. Manufacturers reported that the inquiring atmosphere in the early market was as usual.

The polyester yarn price slightly increased in Zhejiang Market. A local leading manufacturer in Xiao Shan increased some of DTY products by 100 Yuan/ton, FDY products increased by 100-200 Yuan/ton and POY products by 100 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted FDY 50D/24F for 16500 Yuan/ton and DTY 150D/288F micro-web for 17100 Yuan/ton. Another POY manufacturer stabilized the quotations and quoted POY 150D/144F for 15060 Yuan/ton. The polyester yarn’s quotations keep increasing in Shao Xing. One of the local leading manufacturers increased FDY 100D below by 200 Yuan/ton and POY and DTY products generally increased by 100 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted POY 75D/144F for 16500 Yuan/ton and POY 150D/144F for 15400 Yuan/ton.

The large factories in Tong Xiang began to execute B plan of Electricity Limit Policy, the outage rate is around 50-70%, while the minor factories chose to work 5 days and outage 2 days. The production-marketing of the polyester yarn manufacturers was balanced during last weekend. The storage continues to stay at a low level. Basically, part of the manufacturers has no stock pressure. Therefore, when the aggravated Electricity Limit Policy and the scheduled maintenance of some devices afterwards, the polyester yarn price is predicted to keep increasing then.
