June 3, 2011-The Polyester Price Continues to Increase in China

The polyester price continues to increase in Jiangsu Market today. A leading direct spinning manufacturer in Shengze increased the quotations by 100 Yuan/ton generally. Now they quoted DTY 75D/72F for 19,000 Yuan/ton (6-month acceptance) and FDY 50D/24F for 15,600 Yuan/ton. Another melt spinning manufacturer increased semi-dull FDY products by 100-300 Yuan/ton and increased DTY products by 100-200 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted FDY 50D/72F for 16,900 Yuan/ton and light-web DTY 75D/144F for 19,000 Yuan/ton. The other manufacturer unchanged the quotations and now they quoted semi-dull FDY 75D/72F for 14,700 Yuan/ton and light FDY 40D/24F quoted 15,800 Yuan/ton. The polyester price keeps steady in Taicang market. Only one of the local manufacturers slightly adjusted the quotations. Now they quoted FDY 50D/24F for 15,600 Yuan/ton by cash and POY 150D/144F for 14,550 Yuan/ton.

The polyester price slightly increased in Zhejiang Market. A leading polyester yarn manufacturer increased FDY products by 100 Yuan/ton generally. Now they quoted FDY 66D/24F for 14,500 Yuan/ton and FDY 150D/96F for 14,000 Yuan/ton. Another POY manufacturer stabilized the quotations and quoted POY 75D/36F for 15,360 Yuan/ton by cash and POY 150D/48F for 14,100 Yuan/ton. One manufacturer in Shao Xing increased the quotations of FDY products by 50-200 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted FDY 75D/36F for 14,500 Yuan/ton. The polyester price is steady in Tong Xiang market. Local manufacturers unchanged the quotations; now one of them quoted POY 75D/72F for 15,750 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers reported the production-marketing was around 120% yesterday and the storage was around one-week amount.

At present, the storage of the polyester yarn manufacturers is generally low. Influenced by this, the products in short supply will still increase.
