May 27, 2011- The Polyester Price Continue to Increase in China

The polyester price increased in Jiangsu Market today. For example, a leading direct spinning manufacturer increased some FDY products that used to be in short-supply by 200-300 Yuan/ton quoted FDY 50D/48F for 16,200 Yuan/ton. Another leading full-dull products manufacturer increased some of the FDY and POY products by 100 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted FDY 48D/48F for 18,100 Yuan/ton and POY 75D/72F for 17,300 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers reported that the early inquiry was good. The polyester price increased in Taicang Market. One of the local manufacturers increased some of the POY products by 100-150 Yuan/ton and increased FDY products by 100-300 Yuan/ton; now they quoted FDY 50D/24F for 15,400 Yuan/ton and POY 150D/144F for 14,200 Yuan/ton by cash remittance. They reported that the production-marketing was impressive.

The polyester price both increased and decreased in Zhejiang Market. A leading manufacturer in Xiao Shan increased the majority of FDY products by 50-100 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted POY 105D/36F for 15,150 Yuan/ton and POY 135D/48F for 14,650 Yuan/ton. Another manufacturer stabilized the quotations and focus on the selling amount. Now they quoted low-stretch DTY 100D/48F for 17,400 Yuan/ton and low-stretch DTY 150D/48F for 16,000 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers reported the production-marketing of recent two trading days was good. The polyester price rose back in Tong Xiang Market. A local leading manufacturer increased some of the POY products the fine denier FDY products by 100 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted POY 75D/72F for 15,500 Yuan/ton and POY 150D/144F for 14,250 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers reported that the storage was at a reasonable level which was around one-week amount.

At present, the upstream polyester material prices are not changing greatly, as well as the downstream demand; but depends on the different storage situation, the attitude of the polyester manufacturers are also different. Therefore, the manufacturers who have low storage and short supply all increase the quotations appropriately; while others still focus on the selling amount.
