May 25, 2011-The Polyester Price Is Fluctuating In China

The overall prices of polyester yarn in Jiangsu Market had a tentative increase today. A leading manufacturer in Shengze increased some FDY products by 100-200 Yuan/ton; now they quoted FDY 50D/48F for 15,900 Yuan/ton (6-month acceptance) and DTY 75D/72F for 18,800 Yuan/ton. Another melt spinning manufacturer increased some DTY products by 100-200 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted DTY 150D/144F for 16,300 Yuan/ton. The other manufacturer stabilized the quotations and quoted light FDY 40D/24F for 15,700 Yuan/ton and semi-dull FDY 75D/36F for 13,800 Yuan/ton. The polyester price also increased in Taicang market. A local manufacturer increased some of their products by 50-100 Yuan/ton; now they quoted FDY 50D/24F for 15,300 Yuan/ton by cash remittance and POY 150D/144F for 14,000 Yuan/ton by cash. Manufacturers reported that the early inquiry was good.

The polyester price both increased and dropped in Zhejiang Market, China t. A POY manufacturer in Xiao Shan generally decreased the quotations by 100 Yuan/ton; now they quoted POY 150D/48F for 13,600 Yuan/ton. Another manufacturer stabilized the quotations and quoted FDY 66D/24F for 14,100 Yuan/ton and low-stretch DTY 75D/36F for 18,100 Yuan/ton. The quotations are also steady in Shao Xing market, China. Now a local manufacturer quoted FDY 50D/48F for 15,000 Yuan/ton. Another manufacturer quoted FDY 50D/24F for 14,800 Yuan/ton. The polyester price had appropriate adjustment in Tong Xiang market, China. Local leading manufacturers increased some products by 100-200 Yuan/ton and decreased cation POY and DTY products by 100 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted POY 75D/72F for 15,300 Yuan/ton, POY 150D/144F for 14,050 Yuan/ton and DTY 75D/36F for 18,850 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers reported that the production-marketing was around 120% yesterday.

The international oil prices rebounded over night. The futures price of light crude oil delivered by July increased 1.89 dollars to 99.59 dollars per barrel in NYMEX. The futures price of North Brent oil delivered by July increased 2.43 dollars to 112.53 dollars per barrel at the close. Moreover, as the May’s polyester settlement price came out yesterday, the polyester price is generally stable in China and only some manufacturers make tentative increase in prices.
