May 18, 2011-The Polyester Price Had Tentative Increase In Jiangsu-Zhejiang Market, China

The polyester price is steady in Shengze market, Jiangsu province. The melt spinning manufacturer increased some of semi-dull FDY products by 100-300 Yuan/ton and some of DTY products by 100-200 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted FDY 45D/24F for 16,600 Yuan/ton. Another direct spinning manufacturer increased some of FDY, DTY and POY products by 100-200 Yuan/ton separately. Now they quoted FDY 50D/48F for 15,800 Yuan/ton (6-month acceptance). The other manufacturer unchanged the quotations and quoted light FDY 40D/24F for 15,900 Yuan/ton and semi-dull FDY 50D/48F for 15,200 Yuan/ton. A full-dull products manufacturer decreased some of the fine denier FDY products by 100-500 Yuan/ton and decreased DTY by 200-300 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted FDY 68D/48F for 16,800 Yuan/ton and DTY 75D/72F for 19,800 Yuan/ton. The polyester price is consolidating in Taicang market. Local manufacturers stabilized the quotations and one of them quoted POY 150D/144F for 14,100 Yuan/ton by cash remittance; they quoted FDY 50D/24F for 15,300 Yuan/ton.

The polyester price is also adjusting in Zhejiang market today. Local manufacturers mostly keep the quotations unchanged. Now a leading manufacturer quoted FDY 66D/24F for 14,100 Yuan/ton and the low-stretch DTY 75D/36F for 18,100 Yuan/ton. Another POY manufacturer quoted POY 150D/144F for 13,860 Yuan/ton. The quotations of polyester yarn still keep the same in Shao Xing market. A local manufacturer quoted FDY 150D/96F for 13,650 Yuan/ton.

Two of the biggest direct spinning manufacturer increased the quotations of polyester yarn tentatively, but other manufacturers didn’t want to follow their movements. Most manufacturers still focus on the selling amount and want the steadily keep the shipping amount. However, some manufacturers may still increase the prices in order to pull up sales.
