May 17, 2011- The Weakness of the Polyester Yarn Price Is Hard To Change In Jiangsu-Zhejiang Market

       The polyester price is decreasing in Shengze market, Jiangsu province. A local manufacturer decreased the quotations generally by 200 Yuan/ton; now they quoted light FDY 40D/24F for 15,900 Yuan/ton by cash and semi-dull FDY 50D/48F for 15,200 Yuan/ton. Another direct spinning manufacturer unchanged the prices and quoted FDY 50D/24F for 16,100 Yuan/ton (6-month acceptance). The other melt spinning manufacturer also stabilized their products’ prices; now they quoted light FDY 40D/24F for 16,600 Yuan/ton and FDY 45D/24F for 16,600 Yuan/ton. The polyester price also fell back in Taicang market today. A local manufacturer decreased POY price by 100-200 Yuan/ton generally and stabilized the FDY prices. Now they quoted POY 150D/144F for 14,100 Yuan/ton by cash remittance. Manufacturers reported that the early inquiry was as usual.

The polyester yarn price tends to be weak in Zhejiang market. A local manufacturer in Xiao Shan decreased the prices of some DTY products. Now they quoted FDY 66D/24F for 14,100 Yuan/ton and low-stretch DTY 75D/36F for 18,100 Yuan/ton. Another leading POY manufacturer stabilized the quotations and quoted POY 150D/144F for 13,860 Yuan/ton by cash. A manufacturer in Shao Xing increased some FDY rough denier products by 100-200 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted FDY 150D/96F for 13,650 Yuan/ton. The polyester price went weak in Tong Xiang market. A local manufacturer generally decreased the quotations of POY and DTY products by 200 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted POY 150D/144F for 13,950 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers reported that the sales were good yesterday and the production-marketing was around 120%.

At present, the leading manufacturers still focus on the sales amount and some even keep decreasing the prices while in non-profit situation. The stock pressure of the polyester yarn manufacturers was huge. The insiders still think lowly about the market afterwards. Therefore, the polyester price will continue to decrease in a short future and the straddle attitude will be even stronger in the market.
