May 16, 2011-The Polyester Yarn Price Tends To Be Steady In Jiangsu-Zhejiang Market

The polyester price went steady in Jiangsu market. The leading manufacturers in Shengze keep the quotations unchanged. Now a direct spinning manufacturer quoted FDY 50D/24F for 16,100 Yuan/ton (6-month acceptance). Another manufacturer quoted light FDY 40D/24F for 16,200 Yuan/ton and FDY 50D/48F for 15,400 Yuan/ton by cash. The other manufacturer quoted full-full FDY 48D/40F for 18,100 Yuan/ton. The polyester price in Taicang market is in stalemate. Local manufacturers basically unchanged the prices; now one of them quoted FDY 50D/24F for 15,300 Yuan/ton and POY 150D/144F for 14,400 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers reported that the sales were weak in the weekend and the production-marketing was around 50-60%.

The polyester price tends to be steady in Zhejiang market. A leading manufacturer in Xiao Shan keeps the quotations unchanged. Now they quoted FDY 66D/24F for 14,300 Yuan/ton. Another POY manufacturer also stabilized the quotations and now they quoted POY 150D/144F for 13,860 Yuan/ton. The quotations are different in Tong Xiang market. A local manufacturer quoted POY 75D/36F for 15,350 Yuan/ton. Another manufacturer decreased the quotations by 100-200 Yuan/ton and quoted POY 150D/144F for 14,150 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers reported that the production-marketing was flat in the weekend and around 70%.

Now the stock amount of the manufacturers in Jiangsu-Zhejiang market was generally around half-month and some have reached 3-week. However, the upstream material prices are still weak by now. Some leading manufacturers even reduced the contract prices of polyester chips for this month. Therefore, I think the polyester price will continue to be weak recently.
