The up and down movement of the quotations in New York were reflected only limited by the available offers on the domestic market. Offers from origin for nearby deliveries were scarce and the offered quality did not always meet the usual standards.
In view of the movements of the cotton prices and the present yarn prices most spinning mills have kept a wait and see attitude in the second half of the reported week, which was manifested in the low volume of contracts.
Following medium staple cottons were dealed: Central Asia for delivery in the 2nd quarter 2011, West Africa for the 2nd quarter 2011 and US E/M/O/T for the 2nd and 4th quarter 2011.
In the Long- and Extra Longstaple range were sold: US Calif. Acala rgd. for the 2nd quarter 2011 and the 1st quarter 2012, US Pima for the 1st quarter 2012, Giza 88 for the 3rd quarter 2011 and Sudan Barakat for the 2nd quarter 2011.
